1. Potash fertilizer
Driving event: the conflict between Russia and Ukraine has severely impacted Brazil, which mainly depends on the import of chemical fertilizer from these two countries. The price of potash fertilizer in Brazil has soared from $300 per ton in February 2021 to an all-time high of $1100 per ton on the 23rd of this month. Only 14 countries in the world produce potash fertilizer. Canada, Russia and Belarus together account for more than 66% of the total reserves of global potash resources, and the production capacity of the world’s top seven overseas potash fertilizer production enterprises accounts for as much as 83%. 2. Elevator
Driving event: the Ministry of housing and urban rural development solicited public opinions on the code for residential projects. For the setting of elevators in new residential buildings, the exposure draft requires that for residential buildings with two or more floors, at least one elevator shall be set in each unit, and the depth of the car shall not be less than 1.40 meters, the width shall not be less than 1.10 meters, and the height from the center of the call button to the ground shall be 0.85 meters to 1.10 meters. Many ministries and commissions such as the national development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of housing and urban rural development have successively said that all localities are encouraged to install elevators in conditional buildings in old urban communities and provide supporting financial support. After 49000 old residential areas were proposed last year, 51000 old residential areas will be renovated this year. Small and medium-sized cities across the country have also issued local regulations to follow up the implementation. According to the statistics of various caliber, the number of installed elevators is between 2-4 million. The new residential elevator installation requirements, coupled with the transformation of old residential areas, promote the steady development of the elevator industry.
