According to the data disclosed in the quarterly report of public funds, as of the third quarter of 2021, the total market value of A-Shares held by public funds was 5.76 trillion (the former value was 5.57 trillion), accounting for 5.87% (the former value was 5.95%) of the total market value of a shares. The scale and proportion of the total market value of A-Shares held by public funds were at an all-time high.
Foreign capital (central bank caliber): the total market value of A-Shares held by foreign capital in 2021q3 is 3.56 trillion, accounting for 3.81% of the total market value
Since December 2013, the people's Bank of China has disclosed the total market value of overseas capital holdings every month. The statistical objects of Foreign Capital Holdings under this caliber include QFII, rqfii and overseas institutions and individual investors entering the A-share market through land stock communication channels.
In 2021q3, the total market value of A-Shares held by foreign investors was 3.56 trillion, accounting for 3.81% of the total market value (it was 3.76 trillion at the end of last quarter, accounting for 4.03%), and the shareholding scale and proportion decreased compared with Q2.
Insurance capital (cbcirc caliber): the total market value of A-Shares held by 2021q3 insurance capital is 2.73 trillion (including shares held through funds), accounting for 2.92% of the total market value
Since April 2013, the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission has disclosed the total market value of insurance capital stocks and securities investment funds every month. The total market value of Insurance Capital Holdings under this caliber is the sum of the total market value of insurance capital directly invested in stocks and indirectly held through the Fund (the indirect holding of insurance capital through the fund cannot be excluded from the official data).
The total market value of A-Shares held by 2021q3 insurance funds is 2.73 trillion, accounting for 2.92% of the total market value, which is lower than that in 2021q2 (2.78 trillion, accounting for 2.98%).
