In 2021, the market has abundant liquidity. Driven by the European and American markets, the fund-raising amount and the number of listings in the global IPO market have increased.

The total amount of fund-raising and the number of IPOs increased by 55% and 49% year-on-year respectively.

The US, Hong Kong and A-share markets continue to lead the global IPO market. These exchanges raised a total of US $263.1 billion in 2021.

Information technology, media and telecommunications, healthcare, life sciences and industrial markets are the most prominent industries, accounting for 69% of the total fund-raising in the United States, Hong Kong and A-share IPO markets.

The latest development of SPAC in the United States

Following the breakthrough growth in 2020, spac trading continued its strong momentum in the first quarter of 2021. Due to the increasingly strict regulatory review of SPAC by regulators and the more cautious attitude of investors, the listing of SPAC began to slow down in April. However, with the introduction of disclosure guidelines, spac listing activities have rebounded since October.

Spac's involvement in the Asian market

Spac has been approved to be listed on the Singapore Stock Exchange since September 3, 2021. Hong Kong has also announced plans for the SPAC system to further promote the diversified development of its capital market, enhance Hong Kong's competitiveness as an international financial center, and continue to attract Chinese and global issuers and investors.
