Power equipment industry tracking analysis report: EU actively overweight renewable energy power generation – REpower EU action plan and North sea breeze declaration

Event: the EU promoted the large offshore wind power base in the North Sea and announced the REpower EU plan to actively reduce dependence on fossil energy and accelerate the transformation of clean energy power generation. According to windeurope, the representatives of Germany, Belgium, Denmark and the Netherlands issued a joint declaration at the North Sea Wind Power Summit, increasing the installed capacity of offshore wind power in the North Sea to 150gw by 2050, and actively promoting hydrogen energy. On the same day, the official website of the European Commission disclosed the REpower EU action plan to actively promote the installation of green renewable energy, so as to reduce Russia’s dependence on imported fossil energy. The action plan proposes: 1) increase the consumption of renewable energy to 45% by 2030 and get rid of the dependence on fossil energy imports. 2) By 2030, the installed proportion of wind power and photovoltaic power generation will be doubled, from the current 33% to no less than 67%. The proportion of photovoltaic power generation will be the largest, half of which comes from roof photovoltaic. 3) The installed capacity of photovoltaic will double in 2025 and reach 600gw in 2030. 4) Bring an additional € 210 billion in renewable energy investment by 2027.

The demand for PV in Europe increased more than expected, stimulating export demand. By 2021, the cumulative installed capacity of PV in Europe is about 179gw, and the new installed capacity is about 27GW in 2021. Combined with the requirements of the action plan, the annual installed capacity of photovoltaic in Europe shall not be less than 46gw before 2030. Since 22q1, China’s photovoltaic exports have maintained a high growth, and the photovoltaic demand of the EU can reach 50gw this year, which is expected to help the whole photovoltaic industry achieve 250gw of annual installed capacity, an increase of 47% at the same time.

The export of wind power components may have to be boosted. At present, the installed capacity of sea breeze in Germany and other four countries is about 16GW. Combined with the 150gw installed capacity target of the summit, the average annual installed capacity of sea breeze in the North Sea in the future can be calculated as 4.79gw. The wind power components that have gone to sea, such as main shaft, tower, casting and submarine cable, are expected to benefit.
