Announcement on the approval of gas instead of coal power generation project of Guangdong Yuehua Power Generation Co., Ltd

Recently, Guangdong Electric Power Development Co.Ltd(000539) (hereinafter referred to as “the company” or “the company”) holding subsidiary Guangdong Yuehua Power Generation Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Yuehua power generation company”) received the reply on the approval of Guangdong Yuehua power generation company (Huangpu Power Plant) gas instead of coal power generation project from Guangzhou Development and Reform Commission (SUI FA Gai approval [2022] No. 1). According to the document, Guangdong Yuehua power generation company (Huangpu Power Plant) gas instead of coal power generation project (hereinafter referred to as “gas instead of coal project” or “project”) was approved. The project mainly builds a 600 MW (H-class) gas steam combined cycle peak shaving unit and its supporting equipment. The total investment of the project is 1532.19 million yuan, of which the project capital is 310 million yuan, accounting for 20.2% of the total investment of the project, and the rest is solved by bank loans.
The project of replacing coal with gas of Huangpu Power Plant is located in Dawan District of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, which is a supporting power point of Guangdong Province. The approved construction of the project is conducive to optimizing the power supply structure of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Dawan District, meeting the needs of power growth in Guangzhou, alleviating the power supply pressure of Guangzhou power grid, especially in the central and western parts of Guangzhou, and enhancing the peak shaving capacity, safety and reliability of the power grid. At the same time, the gas instead of coal project uses high-efficiency and environmental friendly units. The project construction will help the company build a clean, low-carbon, safe and efficient energy system, which is of great significance to the company’s further optimization of power supply structure and future sustainable development.
Yuehua power generation company will fully promote the project construction in accordance with the relevant requirements of the approved documents, and the company will perform continuous information disclosure obligations on the progress of the project.
