From 1981 to 2021, bathed in the east wind of reform and opening up and adhering to the spirit of self-improvement, continuous struggle and never giving up, TCL has written a glorious history of the start, development and growth of Chinese entity enterprises from scratch, from small to large and from large to strong. TCL was born as a result of reform and opening up. It has witnessed, benefited from and promoted reform. TCL has always integrated the feelings of family and country and the original intention of social responsibility into its blood, which has been passed down from generation to generation.

In 2021, TCL celebrated its 40th birthday. Looking back on the past, in the tide of reform and opening up, we have experienced ups and downs, system reform, and our business field has been expanding. With the development of 5g, artificial intelligence and other technologies, the advent of the era of the Internet of things and the rapid growth of the Millennium generation, industrial innovation, ecological co construction and rejuvenation are becoming more and more important. Despite the continuous transformation and upgrading of the industry, we have always deeply integrated corporate social responsibility with enterprise development, and combined science and technology with public welfare and environmental protection to help promote the national “double carbon” strategy, promote common prosperity and realize the common development of enterprises and society.
In order to better respond to the demands and expectations of various stakeholders on TCL technology’s social responsibility, in 2021, we continued to sort out the substantive issues of TCL technology’s social responsibility. Through the benchmarking analysis of excellent experience at home and abroad, we improved the measurability and comparability of the contents of important issues of corporate environment, society and governance, focusing on the company’s business dependence and its impact on the environment and society, Communicate the company’s adaptability to environmental and social changes and enhance the quantitative measurement of the company’s sustainability and social impact.
We pay attention to the impact of the company’s business on the environment, constantly strengthen environmental management and increase investment in environmental protection. In 2021, TCL Huaxing released the “TCL Huaxing carbon peak – carbon neutralization plan”, which aims to further improve the green procurement mechanism, promote the joint action of upstream and downstream partners, and promote the deep integration of industrial chain development and carbon neutralization path expansion; In addition, we promote emission reduction in the industrial chain through green finance, and help member enterprises and upstream and downstream of the industrial chain to improve the level of green development. Central helps China’s energy transformation by reducing the cost of photovoltaic kwh through efficient modules. In 2021, TCL Technology Division continued to optimize energy management and increase the use of renewable energy. Many factories were approved as national “green factories”, among which TCL Huaxing T6 and T7 Gemini factories won the highest level of green buildings.
We attach importance to employee protection and talent training, provide employees with a safe production and working environment, and provide rich and diversified training courses for their continuous development. We are committed to creating a sustainable workplace environment and growing together with employees. In 2021, TCL technology invested more than 100 million yuan in safety production and 580000 safety trainers; T school, Huaxing college and central school provided more than 2.2 million hours of training for employees, with nearly 71000 people trained.
We will do our best to promote the development of public welfare and philanthropy with technology and help the country achieve the goal of common prosperity. In 2021, TCL technology continued to promote the “A.I. go home” project, in which the “Eagle Story Club” project covered 14 rural pilot schools in 9 provinces, bringing high-quality educational resources and opportunities to more than 2000 rural students; “Light snow music class” is carried out in 13 schools in 10 provinces across the country, covering more than 3000 students. It uses the power of music to help them grow up healthily and happily.
Looking back on the 40 year journey, the values of “change, innovation, responsibility and excellence” are deeply engraved in the blood of TCL people, creating countless highlight moments of outstanding breakthroughs. TCL was born in Huizhou, China in 1981. It started as a local enterprise producing audio tapes. In the past 40 years, the company has adhered to reform, innovation, transformation and upgrading. At present, it has formed a core industry of semiconductor display, new energy photovoltaic and semiconductor materials. In 2018, TCL established a twin architecture; In 2019, the company completed a major asset restructuring, defined the business direction with technology as the core, focused on the upstream and downstream industrial chain related to semiconductor and intelligent manufacturing, and officially changed its name to “TCL technology”. In 2020, the group dismantled TCL Technology Group (Tianjin) Co., Ltd. 2 and arranged new energy photovoltaic and semiconductor materials business. In the same year, the Group acquired Suzhou Samsung to realize a new pattern of large-size LCD panels dominated by mainland enterprises.
In 2021, TCL technology adheres to its main business, industrial upgrading and global layout.
