The 7th China silver economy and health wealth forum was held on January 25. In 2022, China has entered a deep aging society, with a per capita GDP of more than 10000 US dollars, an urbanization rate of more than 60%, and a gradual decline in fertility. At the same time, China is also facing the complex and changeable international situation and the challenges of the post epidemic era. The aging Finance Branch of the Chinese society of Gerontology and geriatrics jointly carried out relevant research with government departments, academic sessions and industrial enterprises, and continuously released research results to promote social consensus and development.
The forum released the preliminary calculation results of “silver economy and health wealth index 2020”, and the final results will be jointly released with economic weekly in February 2022. The index report shows that under the guidance of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council’s active response to the population aging strategy and the opinions on aging work, the situation of aging before preparation is improving. The indicators of healthy aging, medical security and elderly care service system construction continue to increase in value. The replacement rate of basic pension and the sharing rate of basic medical insurance are declining. It is urgent to develop a multi pillar national pension system and a multi-level national medical security system.
At the forum, Dr. Huoding, chairman of the global aging alliance, released a report on the global silver economy promoting economic growth and social value creation. Hodging pointed out that, “China has always been in a leading position in promoting the development of the silver economy. It needs the state’s investment in healthy aging and the government’s strong public policy measures to prevent and manage chronic diseases (such as osteoporosis and its resulting brittle fractures, cognitive diseases, etc.), respond to the surge in care needs of the elderly, and encourage more effective prevention strategies (such as adult vaccination against diseases such as herpes zoster, influenza, pneumococcal pneumonia and even covid-19 pneumonia), and support the continuous innovation of digital health technology. Investment and policies in the field of healthy aging, especially through the professional promotion of the aging Finance Branch of the Chinese society of Gerontology and geriatrics, will be two key areas for China’s growth and leadership on the global stage “.
