“Accelerate the construction of Wuhu global air cargo hub port project and improve the competitive advantage and strategic position of Anhui Province in the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta.” At the two sessions of Anhui Province this year, Chen Yi, member of Anhui Provincial CPPCC and vice chairman of Wuhu Municipal CPPCC, brought a proposal on accelerating the construction of “Wuhu global port”.
Chen Yi introduced that the “Wuhu global port” project has been included in the implementation plan of the 14th five year plan for the integration of the Yangtze River Delta, the coordinated development plan of civil aviation in the Yangtze River Delta and the 14th five year plan of Anhui Province. The overall positioning is to build Wuhu Xuanzhou Airport into a professional freight hub airport and build a globally accessible international air freight network, Build an internationally competitive air cargo hub.
Accordingly, Chen Yi suggested to speed up the organization and preparation of the special plan for air cargo in Anhui Province, study and determine the functional positioning and regional layout of air cargo in Anhui Province, so as to accelerate the development of Anhui air cargo industry, integrate into the Yangtze River Delta, and face the national and even global air cargo market. Chen Yi further clarified in the proposal that a global port project leading group led by provincial leaders and composed of provincial development and Reform Commission and Provincial Department of transportation should be established to dispatch professionals from relevant provincial and municipal departments to work together, formulate a responsibility list, arrange a timetable and road map, and promote the project work as a whole.
In addition, Chen Yi also suggested to provide support and guarantee for the “Wuhu global port” project from the elements of policy, capital and land. Strengthen infrastructure construction and support the revision and approval of the general plan of Wuxuan airport and the construction of reconstruction and expansion projects; Coordinate with Shanghai Railway Bureau to support the reconstruction and expansion project of taqiao railway logistics base and Sanyuan freight station, and plan to pilot introduce high-speed railway logistics into Wuxuan airport; Supporting planning and construction of international air cargo terminal, customs, inspection and quarantine and other infrastructure.
