The first “Hainan free trade port Nansha Port southwest region” special train for grain, oil, sea and rail transport departed from Guangzhou Nansha Port South Station on the 18th, marking the official opening of the sea and rail transport channel, connecting the logistics supply chain between Hainan free trade port, Guangdong, Hong Kong, Macao Dawan District and Chengdu Chongqing twin city economic circle, and further promoting the coordinated development of South China, southwest and Dawan district.
The special train carries more than 500 tons of grain and oil and a total of 20 20 foot tank containers. It is transported by water from Hainan Yangpu international container terminal to Nansha port, and then sent by special train from Nansha Port South Station in the port area to Sichuan and Chongqing, which saves about 12 days compared with the previous transportation mode through Yangtze River Sea intermodal transportation.

It is reported that from January to April 2022, Guangzhou Port Company Limited(601228) sea rail intermodal transport containers completed a total of 66700 TEUs, an increase of 34.7% year-on-year. Among them, the volume of sea rail intermodal transport containers of Nansha Port Railway exceeded 20000 TEUs on May 14. The time taken for each 10000 TEUs to be completed decreased from 70 days to 26 days, and Nansha Port ran out of the “acceleration” of the development of sea rail intermodal transport. Especially since the opening and operation of Nansha Port South Station, the operation lines and frequencies of container sea rail intermodal trains in Nansha port have increased rapidly.
