Recently, the reporter learned from the scheme design seminar of Qiantang River tertiary channel regulation project (Hangzhou section) that the project is expected to be completed in 2025. At that time, Qiantang River will become the first natural waterway in Hangzhou that can pass through 1000 ton ships.
Qiantang River class III channel regulation project (Hangzhou section), also known as the "four to three" project of Qiantang river channel (Hangzhou section), upgraded the original 500 ton class IV channel to 1000 ton class III channel. The downstream of the regulation project is divided into two branches from Babao ship lock to Sanjiangkou of Meicheng (Sanjiangkou at the intersection of Xin'an River, Fuchun River and Lanjiang River). The South Branch is finally jiangjunyan at the boundary of Lanjiang River and Lanxi River, and the West Branch is finally Shilibu bridge on the lower construction line of De, with a total length of about 168 kilometers. It is an important channel connecting Suzhou, Ningbo and Shanghai in Southwest Zhejiang, connecting important regions and cities in the Yangtze River Delta, connecting major industrial and mining bases and comprehensive transportation hubs. It plays a vital role in the long-distance transportation of bulk groceries, containers and other important materials.
In recent years, the process of urbanization has been accelerating, and the clear width, clear height, load and other conditions of several bridges in the channel can not meet the massive transportation demand of the current channel and the navigation standards of thousand ton ships, which hinders the process of building a thousand ton navigation network connecting trunk and branch roads and connecting rivers and seas in Zhejiang. It is very important to upgrade the channel.
In October 2021, the tertiary channel regulation project of Qiantang River (Hangzhou section) was officially launched. At present, the renovation project is in the preliminary design stage and is planned to be completed in 2025. At that time, the channel will help Hangzhou build a new "artery" of water transportation, give greater play to the comprehensive transportation function of the golden waterway of the Qiantang River, enhance the capacity of sea river intermodal transport channels in mountainous areas such as western and central Zhejiang, comprehensively improve the urban energy level, and realize the integrated development of higher quality transportation in the Yangtze River Delta.
