In the litchi forest of Guangdong Prince Forest Park in Zengjiang street, Zengcheng District, teachers and students of Guangzhou Guangzhou Wahlap Technology Corporation Limited(301011) Vocational College picked Dendrobium candidum on the litchi trunk with scissors in their right hand and bags in their left hand. After a while, the bags were full of Dendrobium candidum with green stems and leaves, strong and uniform size.
This is a demonstration and promotion project of Dendrobium candidum planting carried out by the forestry and garden Bureau of Zengcheng District of Guangzhou and Guangzhou Guangzhou Wahlap Technology Corporation Limited(301011) vocational college to promote the development of three-dimensional forestry. It is reported that Li Xianglin, Professor of Guangzhou Guangzhou Wahlap Technology Corporation Limited(301011) vocational college, and his team used ecological three-dimensional planting technology to cultivate Dendrobium candidum on the branches and stems of litchi trees with the natural growth of orchard litchi trees as the carrier. In 2020, the team planted about 4500 clusters of Dendrobium candidum on 110 litchi trees in Zengcheng, which grew well and is now in the picking stage.
“From the whole experiment, the expected economic benefits have been basically realized. Now many people Book Dendrobium candidum from us, and Dendrobium candidum is in short supply. Next, we plan to expand the planting scale and build the whole litchi garden into an ecological planting base for Dendrobium candidum.” Li Xianglin introduced that planting Dendrobium candidum under litchi forest has increased the content and level of litchi planting, formed a composite and three-dimensional forestry industrial model of forest fruit, forest medicine and planting and breeding under the forest, and can increase the income of forest farmers. At the same time, Dendrobium candidum is planted on litchi trees, and the flowers are very beautiful.
The three-dimensional forestry development model of “litchi + Dendrobium candidum” was not only demonstrated and promoted in Zengcheng district to promote the healthy development of litchi industry, but also went out of Zengcheng and extended to other areas of Guangdong, providing new growth power for the Rural Revitalization Strategy of Lingnan. “Our project has been recommended by the Department of science and technology of Guangdong Province to the Rural Revitalization activity of \’zhuzhenbang village\’ in Shanwei City.” Li Xianglin said.
