On April 20, Zhejiang trade delegation organized the 131st Canton Fair Online Exhibition Tour and foreign trade situation Symposium. Zhou Guanchao, deputy special commissioner of the special office of the Ministry of Commerce in Hangzhou, and Chen Zhicheng, deputy director general of Zhejiang Provincial Department of Commerce and head of Zhejiang trade delegation, attended the symposium. While affirming the historic breakthrough in Zhejiang’s foreign trade achievements last year, the meeting also delivered a firm signal to focus on the overall stable growth of foreign trade and improve the comprehensive competitiveness of foreign trade.
“In 2021, Zhejiang’s foreign trade achieved a historic advance. The total export volume exceeded 4 trillion yuan for the first time, and the share of exports in the country remained stable.” Chen Zhicheng said, “since the first quarter of this year, Zhejiang’s foreign trade has continued the high-speed growth momentum of last year, but we should clearly see that the main difficulties faced by foreign trade enterprises such as poor logistics, exchange rate risk and rising raw material costs will continue to exist for a period of time, and the task of ensuring the export share of Zhejiang Province is very arduous.”
At the meeting, the relevant person in charge of the trade and Development Department of Zhejiang Provincial Department of Commerce introduced the overall situation of the Canton Fair. The participants watched the online display platform of the Canton Fair of four enterprises, including Zhejiang haozhonghao Health Products Co., Ltd. and Xinxiu Group Co., Ltd. In addition, the heads of 8 enterprises including shuorbo Technology Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Orient Financial Holdings Group Co.Ltd(600120) gene biological products Co., Ltd. made exchange speeches, introduced the participating practices of this Canton Fair, and put forward corresponding demands and suggestions on the floating exchange rate, the increase of shipping freight, the difficulty of booking shipping space and other issues.
“Affected by the epidemic, the arrival time of the ship where the company imported goods was delayed for more than one month, resulting in the expiration of the letter of credit and rigid cashing of more than 80 million yuan. The company failed to deliver the goods of downstream enterprises on time, unable to return the funds as planned, and the cash flow was seriously affected.” The relevant person in charge of Zhejiang chemical import and Export Co., Ltd. admitted that the obstruction of logistics has become a “stumbling block” for the operation of enterprises.
Similarly, as an exhibitor of the Canton Fair, Xinxiu group has sneaked for many years on the long road of cultivating its own brand. It owns “Newcom”, “T & T” and other brands. It is the exclusive agent of Calvin Klein, an international well-known luggage brand, in China. Xinxiu group is well aware that brand building requires long-term investment. Xinxiu group hopes that the live broadcast platform of the Canton Fair will increase the spot check of third-party institutions of consumer goods, resolutely crack down on fake and shoddy goods and fake goods, and let the flow flow to high-quality products and innovative products.
At present, the foreign trade situation is complex and severe, and the pressure of “breaking the situation in danger” can not be underestimated. Chen Zhicheng pointed out that enterprises should continue to make good use of the series of exhibition platforms represented by the Canton Fair to “look for opportunities in danger” and do a good job in three “efforts”: first, strive to stabilize expectations and confidence and accelerate the process of Zhejiang Province from a large foreign trade province to a strong foreign trade province; Two, one belt, one road, the other is to expand exchanges and expand the market. We must do everything possible to open up the market by participating in exhibitions, production capacity cooperation, cross-border mergers and acquisitions, and vigorously expand the emerging markets such as “one belt and one road” and RCEP, so as to achieve “more blooming”. Third, focus on strengthening quality and promoting upgrading. On the one hand, we should unswervingly focus on innovation driven, improve the core competitiveness of export products, on the other hand, focus on the construction of market channels, enhance the bargaining power in the international market with excellent services, and constantly innovate the business model of international marketing.
