On April 23, on the occasion of the 27th World reading day, China audio visual and Digital Publishing Association released the 2021 China Digital Reading Report (hereinafter referred to as the report).
The report shows that in 2021, the overall revenue of the digital reading market reached 41.57 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 18.23%; Among them, the mass reading market is 30.25 billion yuan, the audio reading market is 8.55 billion yuan, and the professional reading market is 2.77 billion yuan.
In 2021, the number of digital reading users in China reached 506 million, with a year-on-year increase of 2.43%, and the growth rate slowed down. The reporter of the daily economic news noted that in such a large number of digital users, 44.63% are users aged 19-25 and 27.25% are users under the age of 18. Therefore, after 95, digital reading users account for more than 70%, and “generation Z” has become the main force of digital reading in China.
In terms of reading preference, 96.81% of users prefer to use electronic reading, and 29.5% of users will choose to use audio reading.
