Grid connection of the first offshore wind power project in Italy participated by Chinese companies

The Italian bereoco offshore wind power project with key equipment provided by Chinese companies held a full capacity grid connection ceremony in the southern port of Taranto on the 21st.

It is reported that this is the first offshore wind power project in Italy, with a total installed capacity of 30 MW, which can meet the power demand of nearly 20000 families. The project participants include Italian renexia company, Dutch van oord dredging company, French Foreign Trade Bank and other enterprises.

Italian foreign minister Di Mayo sent a congratulatory letter saying that Italy is determined to accelerate the development of renewable energy and increase its proportion in the national energy supply, which can not only reduce energy costs, but also create value and employment opportunities. Italy has a vast coastal area and offshore wind power is quite competitive. It will effectively promote green transformation, create value for the local area and promote the coordinated development of all participants.

Li Junhua, Chinese ambassador to Italy who attended the ceremony, told Xinhua that the project is the first Sino Italian wind power cooperation project with complementary advantages and mutual benefit and win-win results, marking that the vision of the two sides for green energy transformation is gradually becoming a reality. One belt, one road, will continue to be agreed to expand the potential of green energy cooperation, and let the beautiful scenery be Jinshan Yinshan become a bright name card for the Sino Italian joint efforts to build a green “one belt and one road”.

Wang Lihe, vice president of China Ming Yang Smart Energy Group Limited(601615) ( Ming Yang Smart Energy Group Limited(601615) ), said that the bereoco offshore wind power project adopts 10 offshore wind turbines supplied by Ming Yang Smart Energy Group Limited(601615) . In addition to providing equipment, Ming Yang Smart Energy Group Limited(601615) also signed a 20-year operation and maintenance contract with customers to provide full-cycle operation and maintenance services.

More than 200 Italian people from all walks of life, including Giovanni gulioti, governor of Taranto Province, attended the ceremony.
