Shanghai local standard “guidelines for green supply chain management and evaluation of textile products” was officially implemented

According to the industry analysis of China’s carbon emission, the carbon dioxide emission from electric and thermal production accounts for 46.61% and that from industrial production accounts for 37.29%. At present, the petroleum industry is not only the production of fuel, but also the main source of chemical raw materials and three synthetic materials: plastics, rubber and chemical fiber. To achieve “carbon neutralization”, we must reduce dependence on fossil energy in energy and industrial raw materials, develop biomaterial and biofuel industries, and transform from black gold economy of oil and coal to green gold economy of biomass processing.

Recently, the Shanghai local standard guidelines for green supply chain management and evaluation of textile products, jointly led and led by Shanghai Institute of quality supervision and inspection technology and Huahao chemistry, has been officially implemented, which will take a solid step towards the standardization of textile carbon labels and textile biopolyester fiber component labels, In response to the further reduction measures of carbon emissions from textile life cycle outside China.

The standard is based in Shanghai, radiates the Yangtze River Delta and faces the whole country. It is the first local standard for the evaluation of green supply chain management in China’s textile industry. The implementation of standards can effectively improve resource utilization and environmental protection awareness, promote textile and garment enterprises to implement green supply chain management, and maximize the overall benefits of the supply chain.
