According to the current development trend, it will be very important to ensure the reliability and sustainable supply of nickel and other raw materials required for power battery production.
In the next decade, the demand for nickel in the battery industry will surge by more than 500%. It is expected that the demand for nickel resources in the next 30 years will quadruple the output in the past 30 years. At present, 85% of BHP Billiton’s nickel metal production has shifted to the production and supply chain of electric vehicles, compared with 21% in 2017 and less than 5% in previous years.
