Dongfeng Nissan temporarily stopped production, and major car enterprises were affected by the epidemic to varying degrees

Repeated outbreaks continue to impact the automobile supply chain. The first financial reporter learned from Dongfeng Nissan on April 17 that the company was affected by the epidemic, and its factories in many parts of the country are temporarily shut down.

The first financial reporter obtained the production line scheduling table through Dongfeng Nissan insiders. The scheduling table shows that from April 13, some production lines of Dongfeng Nissan Guangzhou Huadu factory have stopped production, while the first, second and third lines have stopped production from 14 to 19, and will resume work on the 20th of this month.

As for the reasons for the temporary shutdown, the relevant person in charge of Dongfeng Nissan said that it was mainly affected by the epidemic in Shanghai and other places. For example, there are 83 suppliers in Shanghai, most of which are electronic products, and they are all core parts manufacturers. “Because of the epidemic in Shanghai, the surrounding logistics cannot be arranged normally, which has a great impact on our production plan.” The relevant person in charge of Dongfeng Nissan said.

It is worth noting that the Shanghai Economic and Information Technology Commission released the guidelines for the prevention and control of the epidemic situation of industrial enterprises in Shanghai (the first edition) last night, which clearly pointed out that all district governments, streets and parks should actively support enterprises to resume work and production. The above-mentioned person in charge of Dongfeng Nissan said that this will help the enterprise’s parts supply chain return to normal as soon as possible and boost the confidence of auto enterprises.

Recently, due to the outbreak of the epidemic in many places, FAW Volkswagen, Weilai, great wall tank, Tesla and other auto companies have stopped production. Among them, on April 9, Weilai announced that since March, due to the epidemic, the company’s supply chain partners in Jilin, Shanghai, Jiangsu and other places have stopped production one after another. At present, it has not been resumed. Affected by this, Weilai’s vehicle production has been suspended. “A car can’t be produced without one part. Affected by the epidemic in Changchun and Hebei, we cut off the supply of some parts in mid March and reluctantly supported by some parts inventory. Recently, we encountered the epidemic in Shanghai, Jiangsu and other places. Many partners can’t supply goods and have to suspend production.” Chairman Li Weibin said it was the first time to respond to this. Five days after the announcement of shutdown, Jianghuai Weilai factory in Hefei has begun to gradually resume production.

As China’s largest automobile production base, Guangdong is currently affected by the epidemic to varying degrees, in addition to the suspension of Dongfeng Nissan. According to the data of the National Bureau of statistics, Guangdong’s automobile output last year was 3.3846 million, accounting for 12.8% of the national automobile market share.

Today, the person in charge of Guangzhou Automobile Group Co.Ltd(601238) said in an interview with the first financial reporter that the recent epidemic situation in Shanghai, Jiangsu, Jilin and other places, as well as the local epidemic situation in Guangzhou, had a certain impact on the production, logistics and terminal sales of some suppliers of the company Guangzhou Automobile Group Co.Ltd(601238) and its enterprises are making every effort to deal with the challenges brought by the epidemic to production and operation, and try their best to minimize the impact of the epidemic. On the one hand, monitor the epidemic situation in the region on a daily basis and maintain close communication and contact with suppliers and logistics providers to adjust production scheduling and evaluate the actual impact; On the other hand, a small number of sales stores have been suspended due to the control of the epidemic. With the gradual improvement of the epidemic, they will also resume business one after another.

Byd Company Limited(002594) due to its highly vertical supply chain, many core parts are produced and supplied by itself. At present, it is relatively less affected by the epidemic. As for the specific situation, Byd Company Limited(002594) relevant people said that there is no information to be released.

Compared with traditional automobile enterprises, the new power enterprises of automobile manufacturing have relatively weak control ability over the supply chain, so they are greatly affected by the epidemic.

Xu Haidong, deputy chief engineer of China Automobile Association, said in an interview with the media recently that different automobile manufacturers have different layout of the supply chain and will make corresponding adjustments in the process of coping with the crisis. Therefore, it is not good to say whether they will stop production completely, but the impact is undoubtedly huge.
