Guojing (Jiaxing) Semiconductor Co., Ltd. was established at the end of 2018 and is located in Nanhu District Science and Technology City, Jiaxing City, Zhejiang Province. It mainly develops, produces and sells 12 inch electronic grade monocrystalline silicon chips as the core semiconductor materials of integrated circuits, as well as polished and epitaxial chips that meet the chip process standards below 28 nm. In October 2021, Shanghai Zhezhong Group Co.Ltd(002346) (002346) increased its capital by RMB 816 million and obtained 58.69% control of Guojing semiconductor. At present, Guojing semiconductor has opened a full-automatic production line.
The project has received strong support from the governments of Zhejiang Province, Jiaxing City and Nanhu District. The 12 inch (300mm) silicon wafer production line project of Guojing semiconductor introduced by Jiaxing is a major integrated circuit project in Nanhu District. The company has a world-class plant, equipment and technical team, and has established a crystal growth laboratory, physics, chemistry and Application Laboratory, striving to become a national first-class laboratory in 2022, filling the gap in the core raw materials of integrated circuit industry in Nanhu District, Jiaxing City. At the same time, it will also drive the development of large silicon wafer related auxiliary materials, equipment investment and related supporting industries in the Yangtze River Delta.
China’s Sumitomo silicon wafer supply is an oligopoly market. The global silicon wafer manufacturers are mainly Japanese, Chinese Taiwan and Germany, including Japan’s Xinyue, MITSUBISHI Sumitomo SUMCO, global wafer, Germany Siltronic, Korea SKSiltron, and the top five suppliers include 90% of the world’s market share of the world’s 12 largest suppliers.

The goal is to set up the world’s top expert technical team to make the world’s most advanced large-size silicon wafer with the most cutting-edge technology.
It is understood that the product line planning of Guojing semiconductor is designed according to the scale of annual output of 4.8 million wafers, which are fully automatic 12 inch large-size silicon wafer production lines. In the future, the successful listing of Guojing products is expected to break the current pattern that the Chinese market is monopolized by Japanese and European giants.

For the huge existing application scenarios, the wafer factories have been operating at full capacity, and the prices of products have been increasing. From the perspective of the incremental market, although there has been the impact of the epidemic since last year, the investment and construction of wafer factories in all parts of China has maintained a high-speed growth. Whether in the Yangtze River Delta or all over the country, large wafer factories have been approved for construction or put into operation, and the price of silicon wafer is rising.
Shanghai Zhezhong Group Co.Ltd(002346) according to the announcement, Guojing semiconductor mainly develops, produces and sells 300mm semiconductor silicon chips, which are suitable for the production of 12 inch wafer chips such as DRAM, NAND flash memory chip, medium and low-end processor chip, image processor and digital TV set-top box, as well as 12 inch wafer chips such as mobile phone baseband, WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth, NFC, ZigBee, nor flash chip and MCU.
In addition, China’s large wafer factories, including Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation(688981) and Huahong, have widely purchased Shanghai Zhezhong Group Co.Ltd(002346) equipment for power system projects. In recent years, Zhezhong has also been deeply involved in the construction of relevant new wafer factories in China.
It is reported that in January 2022, the automatic production line of Guojing semiconductor was fully opened and mass produced, and its products were in the stage of delivery to customers for testing and certification.
