China’s first joint research laboratory for refrigerator food preservation was established

China’s first joint research laboratory of refrigerator food preservation “Midea refrigerator South China Institute of Technology Joint Laboratory of advanced preservation technology” was recently established in Foshan, Guangdong. The laboratory will conduct systematic and in-depth research on the preservation technology of refrigerator ingredients, intelligent perception of refrigerator and information technology. It is reported that the establishment of the joint research laboratory will fill a gap in the research field of all-round refrigerator food preservation in China.

The joint laboratory is jointly established by Midea Group Co.Ltd(000333) refrigerator business department and modern food engineering research center of South China University of technology, and the research team is jointly established by the University and enterprises. The director of the joint laboratory is Professor Sun Dawen, academician of the European Academy of Sciences and the International Academy of refrigeration sciences. At the inauguration ceremony, academician sun Dawen was also employed as a Midea Group Co.Ltd(000333) scientist consultant.

Refrigerators are indispensable products for people’s daily life. The output of refrigerators in China has maintained a stable growth in recent ten years. Academician sun Dawen said that with the continuous improvement of living standards, people’s fresh-keeping requirements for fresh food are also escalating. Therefore, refrigerator enterprises should constantly innovate refrigerator fresh-keeping technology and nutritional and health functions to meet the growing consumer demand of the people. The joint research laboratory mainly focuses on solving the neck problem restricting the development of refrigerators in China, and strives to form a number of key technologies with independent intellectual property rights, so as to contribute to the development of refrigerators in China.
