Ningxia Xinri Hengli Steel Wire Rope Co.Ltd(600165) lauric acid project has passed the technical acceptance, and the Institute of Microbiology of Chinese Academy of Sciences will continue to cooperate

The Institute of Microbiology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences announced on April 8 that its 50000 ton lauric acid project with Ningxia Hengli new biological materials Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Ningxia Hengli”) has been successfully tested, and the production links have been continuously improved and the process flow has been optimized. Both sides of the cooperation believe that they have met the acceptance conditions.

On March 31, 2022, both parties jointly reviewed and verified the project site and products according to the project contract. Upon the unanimous confirmation of both parties, the technical indicators of the project have reached the contract, and many indicators are significantly better than the contract indicators and meet the acceptance standard. As the parent company of Ningxia Hengli, Ningxia Xinri Hengli Steel Wire Rope Co.Ltd(600165) also issued an announcement on the above matters on the same day.

The Institute of Microbiology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences said that the new technology of lauric acid is one of the important breakthroughs made by the Chinese Academy of Sciences since the implementation of the “first action plan” and a major progress in the industrialization of synthetic biology and bio based material technology. The technical acceptance of this project marks the completion of the technical handover of lauric acid technology, and also lays a foundation for the completion of the second phase of Hongguang special project “50000 tons per year lauric acid industrialization” undertaken by microorganisms.

The Institute of Microbiology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences said that the two sides will continue to cooperate, continue to carry out the production strain transformation and process optimization of lauric acid, maintain the international leading position of the technology, and build an industrial system of long-chain dicarboxylic acid series products and their application technology.

It is worth mentioning that in May 2021, Zhongneng group, the Ningxia Xinri Hengli Steel Wire Rope Co.Ltd(600165) parent company, signed an investment cooperation agreement with Datong Municipal Government on the proposed construction of bio based new materials industrial park. The total investment of the project is 50 billion yuan, and the investment in the first phase is about 25.5 billion yuan. After the completion of the project, the annual output value is expected to be about 55 billion yuan.

Insiders believe that Zhongneng group, the controlling shareholder of Ningxia Xinri Hengli Steel Wire Rope Co.Ltd(600165) and Datong Municipal Government jointly build an ecological industrial park of new bio based materials to realize the upstream and downstream integration of biosynthetic polyamide, which will help Ningxia Xinri Hengli Steel Wire Rope Co.Ltd(600165) become a leading enterprise in the large-scale production of long-chain dicarboxylic acid in the world.
