On the afternoon of April 6, Chen Yanshun, chairman of BOE ( Boe Technology Group Co.Ltd(000725) . SZ) and chairman of the Executive Committee, disclosed at the online performance exchange meeting that the shipment target of BOE flexible OLED screen in 2022 is more than 100 million, basically reaching full production, and the shipment volume in 2021 is 60 million. However, at present, BOE flexible screen production line is still in a state of loss, and the company said that it would realize profit and loss balance including depreciation expenses as soon as possible.
Gao Wenbao, CEO of BOE display, explained that the yield of the two AMOLED production lines in Chengdu and Mianyang reached more than 80%. At present, the biggest defect of OLED screen basically belongs to the point defect caused by productive dust. BOE Chongqing flexible OLED production line will be put into mass production in 2023.
According to the data of the consulting agency, BOE flexible OLED screen accounted for 17% of the global market in 2021, ranking second.
As for products in the technical direction of ltpo (low temperature polycrystalline silicon), Gao Wenbao said that ltpo products are in the process of client verification and loading, and currently have enough ltpo capacity to meet customer needs.
At present, BOE’s biggest profit source is still the LCD panel. However, since the second half of last year, the price of TV panel has declined, which has a certain impact on BOE’s profits.
Liu Xiaodong, vice chairman and President of BOE, said that since the second half of last year, the panel price represented by TV panel has continued to decline, but at present, the decline has been significantly narrowed. “In 2022, we will continue to optimize the product structure, improve the operation efficiency of the production line, continue to make efforts in the innovation and transformation business of the Internet of things, and strive for better business performance.”
Gao Wenbao added that the panel price is based on the supply relationship, but this year is relatively special and has the superimposed influence of the world political and economic situation. At present, the panel price has hit the bottom and is believed to be stable for some time. In the long run, once the economy recovers, it will still promote the price of valuable products.
Chen Yanshun also said that the conflict between Russia and Ukraine delayed the rebound of LCD panel prices, and the market is expected to stabilize at the end of the second quarter. “We will continue to pay attention to the upstream raw material supply and the changes in the downstream end market to ensure the timely delivery of products to global customers. We will flexibly adjust our business strategy and reduce enterprise risks according to the situation and process of Russia and Ukraine.”
