On Monday (April 4 local time), the Global Wind Energy Commission (GWEC) released the global wind energy report 2022. According to the data, the global installed capacity of new wind power in 2021 was 93.6 GW, the second highest year in history, slightly lower than 95.3 GW in 2020. GWEC market intelligence predicts that if global warming is to be limited to 1.5 ℃ by 2030, the wind energy provided at the current installation speed can not even reach two-thirds of the required installation capacity.
