Hong Kong Aerospace Hi-Tech Holding Group Co.Ltd(000901) (01725) announced the strategic cooperation between the company and Shandong Institute of industrial technology to jointly construct and operate the first high-resolution agricultural satellite constellation. The first phase of the “Golden Bauhinia Qilu satellite constellation” will consist of nine satellites, and its construction and launch will be completed this year.
All satellites will fly in formation in sequence. The first experimental satellite is “Golden Bauhinia satellite 6”, which is expected to be launched in July 2022. The other eight operational satellites will be launched by aircraft in December 2022, with the observation capability of eight spectral bands. “Golden Bauhinia Qilu satellite constellation” will serve the agricultural yield estimation, agricultural resource investigation, disaster prediction and smart city construction of Guangdong, Hong Kong, Macao and Qilu land.
In 2023, the group will continue to put into production a number of remote sensing satellites, which will have different types of loads such as multispectral and synthetic aperture radar, and can comprehensively provide satellite remote sensing data and products fused with different bands. At the same time, this move will further improve the ability of Guangdong jingwan group to obtain and compile various types of agricultural data and other value-added data of Zijing Bay.
