In 2021, Anhua black tea industry achieved a comprehensive output value of 23 billion yuan, an increase of 51% over 2016, and was selected as the top 10 of China’s top 100 tea counties for 12 consecutive years. The tea garden area of the whole county reaches 360000 mu, and the annual processing volume of tea reaches 85000 tons. “Product quality is the lifeline of the development of Hualai industry. We always take safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of consumers as a top priority and do a good job in every product,” said Zeng Weijun, vice president. “From a leaf to a cup of tea, science and technology run through our whole industrial chain”.
Hualai defines tea planting as the first production workshop, and the relevant tea garden is the green prevention and control demonstration tea garden in Anhua County, which is under the full technical guidance of academician Chen Zongmao’s team. At present, the company has successively built many high standard organic ecological tea gardens in Jiangnan, Shuilong, leaves and so on, covering an area of more than 40000 mu. “Our planting bases are all located in Anhua mountainous area with good ecological environment, with high-quality water source, clean air and symbiosis of forest and tea. All scientific and technological management methods are used. From soil management, tea planting, watering and irrigation, fertilization, pest control to picking, our work is managed by science and technology and standardization,” Zeng said.
In the production process, Hualai introduced the top-level high-tech production technology and digital intelligent management mode, and used precision and excellent professional equipment to ensure the large-scale, automatic, intelligent and clean production, so as to truly achieve both efficiency and quality. It has also successively built two 100000 level purification workshops in line with the national drug production quality management norms, obtained the “GMP certification” and made tea with pharmaceutical standards. At the same time, the company has successively passed SC certification, green food certification, iso9 Dongrui Food Group Co.Ltd(001201) 5 international quality management system certification, ISO22000 food safety management system certification and three-level safety production standardization construction.
In the national food spot check in recent years, Hunan Hualai’s products have been selected continuously, accepted the strict inspection of the quality supervision department, and all passed smoothly. The product quality is far higher than the industry standard. The products have won various industry awards and have been rated as “Gold Award” for many times.

In May 2015, Hunan Hualai and the tea Department of Hunan Agricultural University signed an agreement on the joint construction of “doctor workstation of tea science of Hunan Agricultural University” and “technology demonstration base of Key Laboratory of tea science of the Ministry of education”.
In July 2019, Hunan Hualai product R & D Center (quality inspection center), which is based on the international first-class standard, was officially launched.
In March 2021, academician Liu Zhonghua workstation was officially inaugurated and established in Bandung black tea industrial park.
