On March 25, Tom Henderson, who broke the news of well-known overseas game media, said that Ubisoft, an international well-known game company, will announce a new mobile game product on April 6 this year, which may be an IP derivative of rainbow 6.
Rainbow Six: siege is part of the well-known Tom Clancy series. It was first launched in November 2015 and has been a great success since then. Ubisoft said in December 2020 that the game has more than 70 million players on the whole platform.
Previously, there were market rumors that the mobile game "Rainbow 6: Siege" will be jointly developed by Ubisoft and Tencent's studios.
At the teleconference of Tencent's annual report this week, Tencent's management revealed that there will be cooperation projects with Ubisoft in 2023, which may mean that the mobile game "Rainbow 6: Siege" will be officially launched to the market in 2023.
Ma Xiaoyi, senior vice president of Tencent group, once said this month that traditional big factories in Europe and America have begun to actively embrace GaAs and mobile games. "We should try our best to seize this window period and help our team carry out more cooperation with these big factories. But we should realize that this window period will be closed because these big factories will start to make online games and mobile games by themselves".
There have been precedents for similar cooperation between the two sides. In July 2021, Tencent game reached a strategic cooperation with Ubisoft, and obtained the exclusive agency right of national service for Ubisoft's game "all territory blockade 2", which will later log on the wegame platform.
The background of frequent cooperation between the two companies is that Ubisoft once chose to accept a 5% stake in Tencent in order to get rid of the acquisition of Vivendi group in 2018.
Tom Henderson also revealed that Ubisoft is preparing at least two mobile games, which are the core IP of Ubisoft, one of which may be the mobile game of Assassin's Creed.
At present, Ubisoft's mobile game business accounts for a very low proportion. The two online IP mobile games Assassin's creed, Assassin's Creed: start a prairie fire and Assassin's Creed: true colors, are very popular.
Therefore, some insiders have disclosed that Ubisoft has authorized Tencent to develop the mobile game products of the two IP's "all territory blockade" and "Assassin's Creed".
In the latest 2021 annual performance report released by Tencent, the game revenue in the international market reached 45.5 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 31%.
This week, the third-party data agency sensor tower released the global mobile game revenue ranking list in February. Tencent's "King glory" earned a total of $225 million in global app store and Google play, ranking first on the list.
Tencent has always attached great importance to the game products of shooting category. Its tactical competitive game "pubg mobile" has achieved an annual revenue of more than $2.8 billion (data source: sensor tower), ranking first in the global mobile game revenue list in 2021.
Considering the revenue performance of Tencent's mobile games in the international market, the cooperation between Tencent and Ubisoft in the development of mobile games is highly persuasive.
Ubisoft has many high-quality masterpieces. In addition to blockade 2, there are also IP products with high popularity among game user groups, such as Assassin's Creed series, rainbow 6 series, watchdog series and cell division.
On December 8 last year, Tencent game announced the launch of the game brand "level infinite" for the overseas market. Liu Ming, CEO of Tencent mutual Entertainment International game business, said that its release marked that Tencent's global game business officially entered the next stage.
At present, the first games announced by Level Infinite include: the "King Glory International Edition", "famine: new home" mobile games, "rebirth edge", "war hammer: plague 2", "hammer 40K:", "Vampire: Night hunting blood hunting", "GTFO", "metal: Hell singer" and Tencent game's day beauty studio group, photon studio group and other third party studios produced games.
