On March 26, Ouyang Minggao, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, said at the 2022 China electric vehicle hundred people’s conference forum that 2025 is a critical period for the transition from liquid battery to solid battery.

According to Ouyang Minggao, the goal of China Shipbuilding Industry Group Power Co.Ltd(600482) battery industrialization is: by 2025, the single energy density of liquid system battery will reach 350wh / kg; In 2030, the single energy density of solid-liquid hybrid system battery in the transition from liquid battery to solid battery will be 400wh / kg; In 2035, the single energy density of quasi / all solid state system battery will reach 500wh / kg.

In addition, Ouyang Minggao also said that the retirement of a large number of power batteries is about to enter a rapid rise period. By 2025, the total amount of batteries that need to be recycled and utilized in echelons in China will be 125gwh “Due to the large energy consumption and emission of battery material production and recycling, China urgently needs to develop energy-saving and emission reduction technologies for battery recycling.” Ouyang Minggao said.
