The so-called 1 yuan "routine insurance" refers to that some institutions and platforms make consumers mistakenly think that 1 yuan premium can obtain high premium by false marketing methods such as 1 yuan in the first month and free collection. In fact, institutions and platforms allocate the premium of hundreds of yuan to the subsequent payment period, and consumers need to pay hundreds of yuan after insurance of 1 yuan.

So far, the black cat complaint platform has 9170 complaints involving Wukong insurance. The reasons for complaint include false publicity, delay in "phishing link", automatic deduction of fees by wechat without consent, inducing the elderly to click and automatically deduct fees, stealing personal information, etc.

Many consumers reported that they or their families did not know about the insurance situation. only scanned the code in the scenes of sharing bicycles, charging treasure, parking payment, etc. they were misled to apply for insurance, and then entered the automatic fee deduction process. The premiums withheld per month ranged from tens to hundreds of yuan many consumers were unaware of automatic fee deduction in the early stage.

The reporter found that in addition to Wukong insurance, there are also 1 yuan "routine insurance" behavior on many platforms. For example, 360 insurance carries out 1 yuan "routine insurance" marketing through the short video platform, and easy insurance induces consumers to buy 1 yuan "routine insurance" through the easy financing platform.

In December 2020, the consumer Insurance Bureau of the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission informed several platforms that in the promotion and sales of short-term health insurance products, these platforms had false publicity such as "0 yuan in the first month" and "0.1 yuan in the first month", which were suspected of violating the relevant provisions of the insurance law, such as "failing to use the approved or filed insurance terms and premium rates in accordance with the provisions" and "cheating the applicant". In November 2021, the consumer Insurance Bureau of the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission imposed administrative penalties on such problems of shuidi insurance brokerage company and Weiyi insurance brokerage company.

Local banking and insurance regulatory bureaus also made moves last year. Insiders said that while the CBRC filed a case for investigation, consumers themselves should also be vigilant and not be used by low-price "concessions".
