The unveiling ceremony of the National Precision medicine industry innovation center was held in Chengdu Tianfu international biological city on the 23rd, marking the official landing of the first national industrial innovation center in Sichuan Province.
It is reported that the National Precision medicine industry innovation center, led by West China Hospital of Sichuan University and jointly sponsored and established by leading enterprises, scientific and technological services and investment institutions upstream and downstream of the precision medicine industry chain, was officially approved by the national development and Reform Commission on January 19 this year.
The national industrial innovation center is one of the three important innovation platforms (industry, technology and manufacturing) in the country. By integrating and gathering high-end innovation resources, building an efficient collaborative innovation network, the center carries out disruptive technological innovation in strategic fields, the development, promotion and application of advanced and applicable industrial technologies, the R & D and supply of systematic technological solutions, and the investment incubation of high-growth science and technology enterprises.
As the only approved national industrial innovation center in the field of medicine and health, the National Precision medicine industry innovation center will build three key common technology platforms of precision diagnosis, precision treatment and precision evaluation and a supporting platform of precision medicine strategic resource library, promote scientific and technological innovation, achievement transfer, transformation and industrialization, and form a number of “neck” key core technologies. At present, the total initial investment of the project is 1.052 billion yuan.
The reporter learned that it is expected that in the next 3-5 years, the center will effectively integrate various innovative resources in the precision medicine industry, reach China’s leading and international advanced level in key technical fields such as cell therapy, tumor targeted new drugs and vaccine research and development, medical 3D printing and artificial intelligence, provide public technical services for the industry, gather more than 600 industry university research cooperation units, and obtain more than 1000 important independent intellectual property rights, Drive the output value of precision medicine industry to exceed 100 billion yuan.
On the same day, West China Hospital of Sichuan University signed the cooperation agreement on jointly building the National Precision medicine industry innovation center with the co construction unit. The co construction units are Bgi Genomics Co.Ltd(300676) , Boao biological Group Co., Ltd. Vcanbio Cell & Gene Engineering Corp.Ltd(600645) , Shanghai Pharmaceuticals Holding Co.Ltd(601607) , Chengdu high tech Investment Group Co., Ltd., Chengdu Science and Technology Service Group Co., Ltd. and other leading enterprises, science and technology services and investment institutions in the upstream and downstream of the precision medicine industry chain, including government, industry, University, research and capital, to jointly build the “precision medicine industry innovation center” project.
In 2018, the national development and Reform Commission issued the guidelines for the construction of national industrial innovation centers (for Trial Implementation), which plans to adopt new models such as enterprise leadership, university cooperation and diversified investment throughout the country, establish several national industrial innovation centers in strategic fields, and cultivate and expand new drivers of economic development. By the end of 2021, the national development and Reform Commission had approved national industrial innovation centers in seven fields, including intelligent casting, advanced polymer materials and biological breeding.
