On the huge roof of the 600 meter long and 400 meter wide Wuguo combined plant, 80000 square meters of photovoltaic panels are arranged, like a strict military array, shining with subtle reflections in the sun. Through these photovoltaic panels, light energy is transformed into a clean new energy – photovoltaic energy (photoelectric).
On March 19, Chen Cong, deputy chief engineer of Huadian Hubei new energy Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Huadian”), told Changjiang Daily: “since the roof photovoltaic power station was put into operation in December 2018, it has operated safely for 1183 days, with a cumulative power generation capacity of 22.15 million kwh, a power generation efficiency of more than 70%, and an average annual carbon emission reduction of 7092.5 tons.”
It is understood that Huadian and Wuguo have reached a complementary cooperation agreement. Wuguo will provide the roof of the plant. Huadian is responsible for the construction, operation and maintenance of this 8-megawatt photovoltaic power station. The generated photovoltaic power will be preferentially supplied to Wuguo plant in the form of price discount, and the remaining power will be transmitted to the power grid for sale.
It is understood that this co construction and sharing mode of “you get out of the roof, I will generate electricity, and we share photovoltaic dividends” is relatively rare among large enterprises in Wuhan.
More common practice is that enterprises with huge plant roofs build their own photovoltaic power stations on their own roofs. For example, Wuhan Gem Co.Ltd(002340) urban Mine Low Carbon Industrial Park invested 25 million yuan, laid 40000 square meters of photovoltaic panels on the buildings in the park, and built a photovoltaic power station with a scale of 3.52 MW, with an annual power generation of about 3.5 million kWh and a reduction of 1791.6 tons of carbon dioxide emissions.
In recent years, the construction of photovoltaic power plants has become a new resource for photovoltaic power generation. It does not need to occupy other places, and can make full use of the original space to “add value”. Moreover, the two sides have jointly contributed to the energy conservation and carbon reduction of the whole society while benefiting each other.
At the national “two sessions” just held, a number of deputies to the National People’s Congress and members of the CPPCC put forward a number of proposals for photovoltaic power generation.
According to the statistics of the national energy administration, China’s newly added photovoltaic power generation grid connected installed capacity in 2021 was about 53 million KW, ranking first in the world for nine consecutive years. By the end of 2021, the installed capacity of grid connected photovoltaic power generation had reached 306 million KW, breaking the 300 million KW mark, ranking first in the world for seven consecutive years.
