A few days ago, China Central Television financial excavator index showed that in February, the operation time of cranes, vehicle mounted pumps, excavation equipment and Drag Pumps increased year-on-year, respectively 32.7%, 3.9%, 3.5% and 2.7%, which means that a large number of key projects were started intensively and the construction in progress was accelerated.

According to the statistics of 26 excavator manufacturing enterprises by China Construction Machinery Industry Association, 24483 excavators of various types were sold in February 2022, a year-on-year decrease of 13.5%; 1705 in China, down 30.5% year-on-year; 7431 units were exported, a year-on-year increase of 97.7%.
In January, the sales of mining machinery products was 15607, a year-on-year decrease of 20.4%; Among them, 8282 units were sold in the Chinese market, a year-on-year decrease of 48.3%; The export sales volume was 7325 units, with a year-on-year increase of 104.9%.
Data show that the decline in excavator sales in China has narrowed month by month.
In addition, since the second half of last year, the performance of construction machinery enterprises has been under pressure due to the weak downstream demand in China, but exports have bucked the trend and walked out of the rising curve.
According to the statistics of 26 excavator manufacturing enterprises by China Construction Machinery Industry Association, the export sales volume of excavators last year was 68400, a year-on-year increase of 97%. Since the beginning of this year, compared with domestic sales, exports have maintained a high growth trend. From January to February 2022, 14760 excavators were exported by the above 26 enterprises, a year-on-year increase of 101%.
On the other hand, the China Central Television financial excavator index shows that the construction machinery in many provinces and cities can operate at the same time, and the momentum of making a good start has been further strengthened. Among them, the excavator index shows that in February, the workload of a number of construction machinery in Gansu increased year-on-year, including crawler cranes, truck cranes, Drag Pumps, mixer trucks and pump trucks, which were 365.20%, 59.60%, 56.50%, 24.90% and 19.60% respectively. Among them, the crawler crane data ranked first in China, indicating that large-scale engineering projects in Gansu are entering the closing stage.
Jiangsu’s performance is also outstanding. The operation volume of construction machinery such as truck crane, crawler crane, roller, excavator and mixer truck has increased year-on-year, with 34.40%, 33.10%, 25.60%, 21.60% and 5.20% respectively. The data of roller ranks fourth in China, indicating that Jiangsu is accelerating the implementation of infrastructure projects represented by road construction.
Guizhou’s construction machinery operation volume ushered in the first increase in 2022 in February, including truck cranes and Drag Pumps, which were 14.90% and 54.30% respectively. Among them, the drag pump data ranked fifth in the country, indicating that the demand for the commencement of new projects in Guizhou is still releasing.
The sudden advance of the above three provinces and cities may be related to the recent launch of the “counting from the east to the west” project. Although the implementation rules are still being formulated, the important computing hub node areas in the plan are already investing in the construction of the data center according to the overall plan.
