BMW adds two more IX models in China

On January 5, two new members of BMW IX, the flagship innovation of BMW Group’s science and technology, innovation BMW IX M60 and BMW IX xDrive 40, were officially listed in China and delivered in the middle of the year and January respectively.

In December 2021, BMW Group completed the delivery of the world’s 1 million new energy vehicles. In the first 11 months of 2021, BMW delivered 42000 new energy vehicles in China, a year-on-year increase of 65.8%. BMW Group has delivered more than 130000 new energy vehicles in China.

As a representative of electrification transformation, innovative BMW IX integrates the technical crystallization of BMW Group in innovative fields such as digital interconnection and electrification.

The innovative BMW IX M60 made its debut at the North American Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in 2022. Norda, director of BMW Group in charge of customer, brand and sales business, said: “the delivery of the first million electric vehicles in early December 2021 is a new milestone in BMW’s electric transformation. This year, at CES, we brought the innovative BMW IX M60, the most powerful and fastest electric vehicle in BMW group’s history, to the public.”

The innovative BMW IX M60 applies 20 BMW first-time configurations, and is equipped with up to 35 luxury configurations such as Bowers & Wilkins 4D diamond surround sound system, comfortable heating package with infrared heating technology and automatic parking aid pro. It is worth mentioning that the first equipped Automatic Parking Aid System Pro not only has the remote mobile phone remote parking function, which further expands the tracking reversing from 50m to 200m, but also adds the memory route function, which can store up to 10 parking paths. BMW is one of the first luxury brands with this function.

The innovative BMW IX xDrive 40 focuses more on urban travel. Under the CLTC standard, the endurance mileage can reach 455km. The dual motors release the maximum output power of 240 kW (326 HP), accelerate from zero to 100 km for 6.1 seconds, and the minimum energy consumption of 100 km is 18 kwh. The new car is equipped with two charging interfaces: DC fast charging and home charging. DC charging can accept the maximum charging power of 100 kW, and the battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in only 41 minutes. Lighter body weight brings better energy consumption performance and better interprets the concept of sustainable travel.

The innovative BMW IX xDrive 40 has been listed in the catalogue of new energy vehicle models exempted from vehicle purchase tax by the Ministry of industry and information technology of China, and can enjoy full purchase tax exemption and local support policies for new energy vehicles nationwide.

By the end of 2021, BMW Group has 554 dealers that can provide BMW new energy products and services. In addition, BMW provides customers with a full range of solutions including private charging, public charging, exclusive charging and digital charging services.

In terms of public charging, by the end of 2021, BMW will connect more than 360000 high-quality charging piles for car owners, including 150000 DC fast charging piles; Dealer charging stations expanded to 350. For the transportation hubs in key cities, BMW also provides exclusive parking and charging integrated services for car owners. At present, it has covered 9 airports in five major cities and more than 10 popular business districts in China. In addition, the innovative BMW IX can also enjoy the plug and play function.
