By June 5, 2018, airlines resumed the collection of fuel surcharges on Chinese routes. Since then, the fuel surcharges on Chinese routes have been increased three times in less than a year; It will be lowered again after December 5, 2018. Until January 5, 2019, airlines will suspend charging fuel surcharges for Chinese routes.

The resumption of the Levy in November 2021 and the announcement of the cancellation of the levy are also affected by the fluctuations of international oil prices.
