On March 7, the medical device technical evaluation center of the State Drug Administration issued the guiding principles for the registration and review of artificial intelligence medical devices.
The principles cover the scope of application, main concepts, basic principles of registration, technical considerations, algorithm research and other aspects. The new definition of the guiding principles defines the algorithms used by AI, the data invoked and the objectives of the role, which is helpful to promote the registration and approval of medical AI. For artificial intelligence, the emergence of the new policy may further promote the development of the medical artificial intelligence industry, accelerate the commercialization process of the industry, and a new market competition pattern will appear.

On March 11, the official website of the National Health Commission released the notice on printing and distributing the application scheme for covid-19 virus antigen detection (Trial), as well as the supporting basic operation process of covid-19 virus antigen detection in grass-roots medical and health institutions and the basic requirements and process of covid-19 virus antigen self-test. According to the plan, in order to further optimize the covid-19 virus detection strategy according to the needs of epidemic prevention and control, antigen detection is added as a supplement on the basis of nucleic acid detection. Community residents who need self-test can purchase antigen test reagents for self-test through retail pharmacies, online sales platforms and other channels. The release of the plan means that covid-19 antigen rapid test is expected to be put into use in China quickly, and China's covid-19 antigen rapid test kit market will be opened.
