On December 29, the Three Gorges Ulanqab new generation power grid friendly green power station demonstration project (phase I) was officially put into operation. AI Lihua, vice chairman of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Qi Feiyun, deputy secretary of Ulanqab municipal Party committee and mayor, Jia Zhenguo, Secretary of the Party committee and chairman of Inner Mongolia Electric Power Group, and Wang Liangyou, member of the Party group and deputy general manager of China Three Gorges group, attended the commissioning ceremony.
At 9:35 a.m., the project was officially started. On the large screen of the intelligent dispatching center, the three direct dispatching control modes of “command tracking, peak power supply and system peak shaving” operate stably, orderly, safe and reliable, with outstanding scientific and technological performance and obvious demonstration effect. China’s first “source network load storage” demonstration project (phase I) has been successfully connected to the grid and put into operation, and a steady stream of clean energy has been transmitted from Inner Mongolia prairie to all parts of the country.
The project is located in Siziwang Banner, Wulanchabu City, Inner Mongolia (defined as “land Three Gorges”), with a planned total capacity of 2 million KW and 500000 kW grid connected and put into operation in phase I. through coordinated and optimized operation, intermittent new energy can provide regional peak power supply guarantee, and the peak capacity is about equivalent to a 600000 kW thermal power unit, Ensure its own consumption and provide a certain peak shaving capacity for the power grid. The project is the first “source grid load storage” demonstration power station in China. After completion, it will realize the technological revolution that intermittent unstable wind power and photovoltaic are equivalent to thermal power units, and will also become the single new energy station with the largest energy storage device in the world. The project is a vivid interpretation of the article of the general secretary of Xi Jinping on doing a good job in the modern energy economy in Inner Mongolia and Solidly Promoting the high-quality development strategy of new energy. It is of great significance to build a new power system with new energy as the main body and a model for realizing the sustainable development of new energy industry.
The project is led by China Electric Power Construction Engineering Consulting Co., Ltd. and forms an EPC consortium with Three Gorges Shanghai Institute, Power Planning Institute and China Energy Engineering Corporation Limited(601868) Jiangsu Institute, China Energy Engineering Corporation Limited(601868) Tianjin electric power construction undertakes all construction tasks. Since the commencement in April, all participating units have striven to explore, actively integrate, complement each other’s advantages and share resources, and achieved the goal of starting and putting into operation in the same year.
