On December 31, the annual report released by the global sovereign wealth fund data platform (Global SWF) showed that, driven by the rise of U.S. stock market and oil price, the assets held by global sovereign wealth and public pension funds increased to a record $31.9 trillion in 2021, and the investment volume also rose to the highest value in several years.

The report points out that the assets managed by global sovereign wealth funds have increased by 6% to US $10.5 trillion in the past year, and the assets of public pension funds have increased by 9% to US $21.4 trillion.

Singapore Government Investment Corporation (GIC), Singapore's sovereign wealth fund, ranked first in trading volume in 2021, with an increase of 75% to US $31.1 billion, involving 109 transactions. More than one third of the funds are invested in real estate, especially logistics.
