In London, the average price index of 100 stocks in the financial times closed at 7384.54, down 18.47 points or 0.25% from the previous trading day.
In terms of individual stocks, among the constituent stocks in the London stock market, service stocks led the gains on the same day. The top five stocks were: Investment Company Melrose industries, up 2.34%, precious metal producer fresnello, up 1.71%, business service company nengduojie, up 1.35%, Pearson group, up 1.29% and British Telecom Group, up 0.92%.
On the same day, consumer stocks led the decline in the London stock market. The top five stocks were: Cuifeng group, a household goods supplier, fell 3.15%, electrocomponents, a distributor of industrial electronic products, fell 2.27%, British National Power Corporation fell 1.78%, bonzil, a supply chain service provider, fell 1.77% and Royal Mail fell 1.75%.
In terms of other two major European stock indexes, France Paris Stock Market CAC40 index closed at 7153.03, down 20.20 points or 0.28% from the previous trading day; Frankfurt stock market was closed on the same day.
