Report: in 2021, the investment volume of global sovereign wealth funds was about 120 billion US dollars, the highest over the years

According to the 2021 sovereign wealth fund report jointly released by the Spanish foreign trade development and Investment Bureau in the West investment office and the transformation and Governance Center of IE University in Spain, despite the continuous uncertainty of the epidemic, the global sovereign wealth funds still accelerated the pace of direct investment and completed nearly 450 transactions, a year-on-year increase of 171%. The total transaction amount is about 120 billion US dollars, which is three times the reported transaction amount of the previous year. 2021 has also become the year with the highest transaction value in the previous report. In terms of investment destinations, the United States once again became the primary investment destination of sovereign wealth funds in 2021, attracting 28.8% of investment. India, China, the United Kingdom, Singapore, Russia and Brazil followed. These economies together account for 73 per cent of all transactions.
