According to the relevant person in charge of CNNC, “Hualong No. 1” is one of the three generation nuclear motor types with the highest acceptance in the current nuclear power market. It is an innovative achievement of three generation pressurized water reactor nuclear power with completely independent intellectual property rights in China. The design life of “Hualong No. 1” of CNNC is 60 years. The reactor adopts 177 core design and innovatively adopts the combination of “active and passive” safety system and double-layer containment technology, which is fully capable of mass construction.
According to the information disclosed by CNNC, the annual power generation of each unit of “Hualong 1” is expected to be about 9 billion kwh after completion, which can meet the annual power demand of more than 4 million local families in Pakistan, equivalent to reducing 3.12 million tons of standard coal and 8.16 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions every year, equivalent to planting more than 70 million trees, which is of great significance to optimizing Pakistan’s energy structure It is of great significance to promote global carbon peaking and carbon neutralization.
In addition, the reporter learned from CNNC that the construction of the project has also driven the development of relevant industries in Pakistan, with a significant increase in local supply equipment in Pakistan.
