Ye Guoping, Secretary General of Biluochun tea industry association in Dongting mountain, Wuzhong District, introduced that since March this year, the weather in Taihu Lake area has been mainly sunny, with appropriate temperature and abundant sunshine. The temperature in Biluochun tea producing area is between 16 ℃ and 20 ℃, and the precipitation is between 60 mm and 80 mm. The temperature and precipitation are conducive to the germination of tea trees and the picking of fresh leaves. Biluochun tea from Dongting mountain will be mined and listed sporadically from March 12, and will be listed in batches around the 16th. It is estimated that the output of Biluochun tea in Dongting mountain this year will increase slightly compared with last year.

From 2018 to 2021, the average price per kilogram of special grade-1 Biluochun tea in Dongting mountain increased by 1000 yuan per year.

Zhang Jianliang, President of Biluochun tea industry association in Dongting mountain, Wuzhong District, explained that after the origin of Biluochun tea was included in the Suzhou ecological conservation and Development Experimental Area, the requirements for the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides by tea farmers were also increased accordingly. According to the monitoring data of Wuzhong District Agricultural and rural Bureau, the total use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides in the area around Taihu Lake has decreased by 20% in recent five years, while the use of organic fertilizers has increased accordingly.
