2020 green card list: under the “double carbon” goal, the freight logistics industry will prefer green trucks

On the morning of December 30, the Asian air cleaning center, the school of environment of Tsinghua University and the national big data alliance of new energy vehicles jointly held the “2021 China Truck towards zero carbon and zero emission forum”, jointly discussed the green and high-quality development of the freight logistics industry, and jointly released the 2020 green card list: Green list of Chinese trucks and manufacturers. Experts pointed out that China’s released carbon peak carbon neutralization roadmap will bring benefits to the pollution and carbon reduction of the freight and logistics industry. Automobile enterprises should formulate a carbon neutralization and zero emission strategy as soon as possible, continuously reduce truck emissions and energy consumption, and help achieve the “double carbon” goal and improve air quality in an all-round way.

“2020 green card list: Green list of Chinese trucks and manufacturers” focuses on diesel trucks, which is the focus of the current national air pollution policy. According to the China Mobile Environmental Management Annual Report (2021) released by the Ministry of ecology and environment, in 2020, the nitrogen oxide and particulate matter emissions of diesel trucks accounted for 78.5% and 90.6% of the total vehicle emissions respectively. During the “14th five year plan” period, Chinese cities are facing coordinated reduction of PM2 5 and ozone concentration, how to reduce the exhaust emission of diesel trucks is very key.

Fu Lu, director of Asia Clean Air Center in China, pointed out that the nitrogen oxide emission level of heavy vehicles is significantly higher than that of light and medium vehicles. During the “14th five year plan” period, the key battle of diesel truck pollution control needs to focus on heavy vehicles, continue to implement strict environmental protection supervision of in use vehicles, and simultaneously ensure the quality of diesel oil products and vehicle urea.

Under the “double carbon” goal, electric trucks have attracted much attention as one of the paths of “pollution reduction and carbon reduction”. Li Yang, Executive Secretary General of the national big data Alliance for new energy vehicles, pointed out that under the “double carbon” goal, the market scale of new energy vehicles continued to expand steadily, the market penetration increased rapidly, and the market acceptance increased again.

Wu ye, a professor at the school of environment of Tsinghua University, said: “The large-scale application of new energy trucks represented by pure electric and hydrogen fuel cell technologies will greatly reduce the air pollutants and carbon dioxide emissions during the vehicle operation stage of the freight industry. At the same time, we should also see that new energy trucks will transfer the carbon dioxide emissions of traditional fuel vehicles to the stages of power or hydrogen energy production, storage and transportation and battery production. They are promoting new energy for trucks At the same time, we should also work together to promote the green transformation of energy structure, reduce the carbon emissions of new energy trucks in the whole life cycle, and help achieve the “double carbon” goal. ”

Professor Wu ye also said that green freight has become an important link in the green development of the whole logistics and transportation field. Automobile enterprises should analyze their advantages and disadvantages in vehicle emission, energy consumption and product layout, formulate enterprise carbon neutralization and zero emission strategy as soon as possible, and improve enterprise green competitiveness.

Wang Jiguang, Deputy Secretary General of the China motor vehicle pollution prevention and Control Committee of the China Environmental Protection Industry Association, said that the current state’s supervision over the emission and energy consumption of freight cars has become increasingly stringent. Some local governments have begun to adopt “Internet plus” big data to fine tune the environmental supervision of vehicles.

YAN Dan, vice president of zhongwulian logistics planning and Research Institute, said: “Green trucks are a key link for the logistics industry to achieve the goal of carbon peak and carbon neutralization and realize the transformation of green and high-quality development of the industry. With the increasing attention of policies to low-carbon environmental protection, logistics enterprises will gradually transform from ‘profit driven’ to ‘green driven’. Green trucks will also become one of the ways for logistics enterprises to create green value.”
