On March 9, the reporter learned from the recent joint meeting held by the exploration and Development Research Institute, Engineering Technology Research Institute, experimental testing research institute and Petrochina Company Limited(601857) exploration and Development Research Institute of Xinjiang Oilfield Company that Xinjiang Oilfield will give priority to co trial injection in the hinterland and eastern part of Junggar basin this year.
The experts attending the meeting also discussed the principles of carbon capture and storage technology in the eastern Junggar basin, i.e. the advantages of CCS and storage technology in the Junggar Basin in the near future, and determined the priority of carbon capture and storage technology in the Junggar basin.
Xinjiang Oilfield has started the planning and research of CCUs / CCS million ton demonstration area since 2015. In 2019, the pilot test of 530g co miscible drive in eight zones was started. Now more than 100000 tons of CO have been injected, and the test has achieved initial results. In the same year, the CCUs project in Junggar basin of Xinjiang Oilfield was selected as one of the first five CCUs industry promotion centers in the world by the oil and gas industry Climate Initiative (ogci).
The low permeability reserves of newly discovered resources in Xinjiang Oilfield in recent 10 years account for more than 90% of the total proved reserves, leaving a huge resource space for the application of CCUs / CCS. After preliminary investigation, the geological reserves of developed reservoirs suitable for CO flooding in Xinjiang Oilfield reach more than 1 billion tons, including nearly 500 million tons suitable for miscible and near miscible flooding, nearly 200 million tons of newly recoverable reserves and about 400 million tons of Co. according to incomplete statistics, there are a considerable number of carbon emission enterprises such as refining and chemical industry and modern coal chemical industry around the Junggar basin, the main battlefield of exploration and development in Xinjiang Oilfield, Its carbon emission reaches nearly 100 million tons per year, which provides a basic guarantee of carbon resources for the development of CCUs / CCS.
In recent years, focusing on the “double carbon” goal and in accordance with the strategic deployment of “clean substitution, strategic succession and green transformation” of the group’s new energy business, Xinjiang Oilfield has focused on the positioning of “carbon storage service provider, carbon pipeline transporter and carbon trading trader”, and continuously accelerated the research and deployment of relevant technologies, Actively promote the transformation to a comprehensive energy company of “oil, gas, thermal power and hydrogen”, realize the vision of green development of enterprises, help local high-quality development, and take due responsibility for coping with climate change.
