On December 28, Petrochina Company Limited(601857) gas storage reached 154 million cubic meters of full bore gas production this winter, with a record high single day gas production, an increase of 20 million cubic meters compared with the highest daily gas production last winter and this spring. It plays an important role as a “regulating valve” to ensure the safe and stable supply of natural gas this winter and next spring.
Petrochina Company Limited(601857) earnestly implement the relevant national requirements for accelerating the construction of natural gas storage and peak shaving capacity, and spare no effort to promote the construction of facilities. The gas storage and peak shaving capacity continued to grow rapidly, with an average annual growth rate of more than 20% during the 13th Five Year Plan period. In 2021, Petrochina Company Limited(601857) strengthen gas injection in summer and speed up project construction. A number of new wells and new units have been completed and will be put into gas production operation. Gas production is planned to increase by 16.3% year-on-year in winter this year, and the peak day peak regulation capacity is increased by 25 million cubic meters year-on-year.
In order to ensure the safe and efficient gas supply of the gas storage this winter and next spring, Petrochina Company Limited(601857) first, strengthen the resource guarantee, make every effort to coordinate and ensure the gas injection resources of the gas storage, strive to inject gas early, inject more gas and fill up gas, exceed the annual gas injection plan of 11.88 billion cubic meters before winter, and each gas storage has reached the full capacity, laying a material foundation for peak shaving. Promote the construction of various projects with high quality, carry out material procurement, drilling and completion construction, installation and commissioning of facilities and equipment in an orderly manner, and ensure that new wells and new devices are put into operation as planned before the gas production period. The inspection and maintenance plan shall be formulated in advance to ensure the orderly connection between gas injection production and gas production system preparation, the equipment and facilities of each gas storage are in good condition, and all gas production work shall be prepared in advance and put into production as planned. Prepare emergency plans in advance and reserve emergency materials to ensure timely and effective response in case of emergencies and maximize the supply capacity of gas storage.
Hutubi gas storage of Xinjiang Oilfield is the largest gas storage in China, which undertakes the important mission of natural gas peak shaving in North Xinjiang and along the west to east gas transmission pipeline. In response to this round of cold wave cooling weather, on the 24th, the daily gas production of Hutubi gas storage reached 30 million cubic meters, a new high since the establishment of the storage. Based on the daily gas consumption of 0.5 cubic meters per household, the natural gas produced by the gas storage on that day can meet the gas demand of 60 million households. On the 27th, the fire power of 24 gas production wells in the gas storage group of Liaohe Oilfield was fully opened, with a daily gas production of more than 29 million cubic meters, breaking the record of the highest daily gas production since the establishment of the reservoir, doubling over last year, contributing to the protection of natural gas supply in the northeast and Beijing Tianjin Hebei region. On the 28th, the daily gas production of XIANGGUOSI gas storage of Southwest Oil and gas field reached 28.55 million cubic meters, another record high. The gas storage is responsible for peak shaving and accident emergency of natural gas in winter in Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Sichuan and Chongqing.
Gas storage, known as underground “natural gas granary”, is an energy infrastructure integrating seasonal peak shaving, accident emergency gas supply, strategic reserve and other functions. The gas storage can play the function of “deposit” when there is surplus in the natural gas market, and “take out” in time when there is insufficient supply in the winter heating season. It has the characteristics of large volume and strong peak shaving capacity, which can alleviate the imbalance of gas supply caused by different natural gas demand and load change of various users, so as to achieve the purpose of natural gas peak shaving.
