Hisense’s B2B industry, a well-known Chinese enterprise, has ushered in a key step to the sea. Recently, the consortium composed of Hisense and Shandong Hi-Speed Company Limited(600350) successfully won the bid for the sub intelligent transportation system improvement project in the capital of Ethiopia. This is Hisense’s first overseas intelligent transportation project, and it is also an important beginning for China’s technical standards to move systematically to the overseas market.
Zhang Sihai, President of Hisense network technology company, introduced that the bidding threshold of Addis Ababa public transport system improvement project is high, and there are strict restrictions on the performance requirements and technical strength of enterprises. For nine months since March 2021, Hisense and Shandong Hi-Speed Company Limited(600350) are fully prepared to jointly win the bid in the fierce competition of many bidding enterprises. The construction period of the project is 21 months. After completion, it will realize intelligent optimization of driving plan and intelligent dispatching of vehicles, and greatly improve the operation efficiency of public transport enterprises; Realize real-time monitoring, remote control and information release of buses, improve enterprise equipment intelligent management level and safety prevention ability, and provide better travel experience for local citizens.
How China’s intelligent transportation industry goes global has always been a hot topic in the industry. In 2018, China Intelligent Transportation Association and 13 Science and technology counselors from the Ministry of science and technology in the United States, Canada, the European Union, the United Kingdom and Japan had a special discussion on how to promote international cooperation in China’s intelligent transportation industry. If China’s intelligent transportation enterprises have gone through the 1.0 stage of product foreign trade going to sea and the 2.0 stage of “borrowing ships to sea” relying on the national project system integration, the Ethiopian intelligent transportation project won by Hisense means that China’s intelligent transportation industry has entered the 3.0 stage of going to sea – going to sea with the overall system and exporting the technical mode.
Since its entry into the field of intelligent transportation in 1998, Hisense has been regarded as a “top student” in the industry with software and hardware product genes and paying attention to product R & D and technology investment. Hisense has ranked first in China’s intelligent transportation market share for ten consecutive years. Technology and product solutions have been applied to 169 cities across the country. Hisense has participated in the Beijing Olympic Games, Qingdao Shanghai Cooperation summit Hisense Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) intelligent system has a market share of 70% in China for national projects such as traffic support for the 14th National Games in Xi’an. In 2020, among the top 10 cities with year-on-year improvement in China’s traffic health index, Hisense intelligent transportation scheme helped 5 of them, accounting for half of the country.
Seize industrial development opportunities through B2B products such as commercial display, intelligent transportation and medical ultrasound, and seize regional development opportunities through the layout of global R & D, manufacturing and sales. This is a “new opportunity” seen by Hisense and a new starting point for Hisense’s global expansion. Earlier, Zhou Houjian, chairman of Hisense Group, said at an internal meeting that “the next important breakthrough in Hisense’s internationalization is the B2B industry going to sea.” Marked by the Ethiopian intelligent transportation project, Hisense B2B industry will usher in greater market opportunities in the world.
