The first phase of the largest “fish light complementary” integration project in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Bay area is connected to the grid

On the 28th, the first phase of the 500 MW fishery photovoltaic power generation project in Haiyan Town, Taishan City, Guangdong Province, the largest single connected “fishery light complementary” integration project in Dawan District, Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, was successfully connected to the grid.

It is reported that the total investment of the project is about 2.2 billion yuan, with a total installed capacity of 500 MW and an area of about 6500 mu. The first phase of the project is 200MW, which is jointly invested and constructed by Guangzhou Hengyun Enterprises Holdings Ltd(000531) and China Energy Construction Group Guangdong Electric Power Design and Research Institute.

Chen Lan, deputy general manager of Guangdong Electric Power Design and Research Institute of China energy construction group, introduced that after 500 MW full capacity grid connection, 543 million kwh of clean electric energy can be provided every year to meet the annual power consumption of 110000 households. Compared with coal-fired power plants of the same scale, it can save about 193000 tons of standard coal and reduce about 534000 tons of carbon dioxide emission every year, which is equivalent to the carbon sequestration of about 75000 mu of forest in Dawan district and the planting of trees within 20% of the jurisdiction of Haiyan town.

Chen Lan introduced that after the full capacity of the project is connected to the grid, it will become the largest “fish light complementary” integration project in the Great Bay area of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao. Photovoltaic panel arrays are set up above the water surface to generate electricity by Cecep Solar Energy Co.Ltd(000591) and characteristic aquaculture is developed in the water area below, which will make all-round and three-dimensional use of the water space.

According to the local villagers, because of the strong sunshine and high water temperature, this beach can not cultivate fish with higher output value, but mainly oysters. Under the shelter of photovoltaic panels, algae reproduction will be reduced, which is helpful to improve water quality and reduce water surface temperature, and provides a better growth environment for fish and shrimp.
