On February 28, the 2022 World Mobile Communication Conference was held in Barcelona. Yang Jie, chairman of China Mobile, said in his speech at the opening ceremony that China Mobile is expected to open more than one million 5g base stations by the end of 2022, promote the scale of 5g network customers to more than 330 million, and create more than 100005g business cases.
Yang Jie pointed out that China Mobile’s current new positioning is to “create a world-class information service technology innovation company”, and will make every effort to build a new information service system of “connection + computing power + capability” based on 5g + computing power network + smart console, so as to create a new model of value growth.
There are three specific implementation directions:
First, build a first-class 5g network to provide high-speed, mobile, secure and ubiquitous “connection services”. We will continue to promote the construction of 5g + gigabit optical fiber network, deepen multi frequency collaboration, co construction and sharing, improve the capacity of 5g private network and support the scale expansion of 5g applications.
The second is to build a ubiquitous and integrated computing network and create a “computing service” with one point of access and ready to use. It will accelerate the efficient integration of computing power in physical space, logical space and heterogeneous space, build a computing network brain with integrated scheduling and arrangement of computing network, and gradually promote computing power to become a social service like hydropower. In 2022, the resource exchange, system connection and integrated service of computing power and network will be basically realized.
Third, build an open and shared smart platform, and output “capability services” that are uniformly encapsulated and flexibly invoked. It will fully gather internal and external high-quality capabilities and high-value data to build a benchmarking smart platform in the industry; Internally, we will inject intelligence and energy into product innovation, operation and management, externally, create an “AAAs +” development ecology, and support the digital intelligence transformation of the whole society. By the end of 2022, the aggregation capacity will exceed 350 items, and the annual adjustment of capacity will exceed 100 billion times.
Yang Jie concluded that the Beijing Winter Olympics, which closed a week ago, brought three enlightenment to industrial development:
First, the scope of network connection is expanding to the integration of “man-machine and object”. With the in-depth development of 5g, the construction of intelligent connection covering 10 billion “man-machine objects” is accelerating. Machine vision, machine hearing and machine touch have increasingly become the main modes of information interaction.
Second, the form of infrastructure is upgrading to the integration of computing and network. Massive information interaction puts forward an urgent demand for the integrated infrastructure of computing network. It is necessary to perceive, schedule and arrange computing power through the network, and accelerate the integration, innovation and open sharing of network, cloud, digital, intelligence, security, edge, end and chain.
Third, economic and social development is evolving towards the integration of virtual and real. With the expansion of connection objects and the upgrading of infrastructure, new business forms and new models such as meta universe are emerging. A new space for human development with digital and real world complementing each other and broader is accelerating.
