Recently, the major cargo wharf project in the orchard operation area of the main port area of Chongqing port was successfully completed. It is reported that the wharf project is an important heavy cargo wharf under construction in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River. The project is located in the new town in the east of Chongqing, on the North Bank of the Yangtze River about 28 kilometers away from Chaotianmen, Chongqing. The construction scale of the project is one 5000 ton heavy cargo berth, one 5000 ton multi-purpose berth and corresponding supporting facilities.
“After the completion of the project, it will accelerate the construction of the orchard into a port operation area with large throughput, high transfer efficiency and low intermodal transport price, and effectively share the loading and unloading function of groceries in the orchard operation area, which plays an important role in promoting the sustainable development of local economy and society and promoting the green development of the Yangtze River economic belt.” Li Chang, project manager of hydraulic engineering of major parts wharf project in orchard operation area of main port area of Chongqing port of China Communications fourth navigation bureau.
It is understood that the construction of hydraulic wharf involves a total area of more than 50000 square meters, with a total investment of 207 million yuan. The project adopts the EPC general contracting mode, led by China Railway Changjiang Transportation Design Group Co., Ltd. and constructed by CCCC fourth Navigation Engineering Bureau Co., Ltd., which was started in March 2019 and planned to be delivered for operation in June 2022.
