According to the agreement, the two sides will establish a joint venture (hereinafter referred to as the new company) to jointly develop and sell high value-added pure electric vehicles through the new company, and will also provide travel services to realize commercialization.
It is reported that the new company plans to be established in 2022 on the premise that the two sides sign a final agreement and obtain the permission of relevant departments. The first pure electric vehicle model of the new company will be on sale in 2025. It is worth noting that the new company is expected to carry out the planning, design, development and sales of pure electric vehicles, but will not own manufacturing facilities. Honda’s automobile manufacturing plant is responsible for manufacturing and production, while Sony is responsible for developing and providing travel service platform to the new company.
