In the whole year, more than 160000 kilometers of rural roads were newly reconstructed and 191000 kilometers of rural roads were repaired and maintained. We will continue to operate slow trains, unblock water transport channels in poverty-stricken areas, and further improve the accessibility and convenience of air transport in poverty-stricken areas. We have continued to promote the “express delivery to the village” project and promote the integrated development of “passenger and Freight Mail” in rural areas. The number of work safety accidents and deaths on roads and waterways have decreased, 10525 dangerous old bridges have been reconstructed, and 81000 kilometers of highway security projects have been promoted, 47400 speed bumps have been installed at 23000 level crossings in rural areas across the country. The continuous safe flight time of civil transport aviation exceeded 100 million hours, and there were no major and above safety accidents in the field of postal and express delivery. In terms of maritime search and rescue, 1990 search and rescue operations were carried out throughout the year, with 1171 Chinese and foreign ships in distress and 13928 Chinese and foreign people in distress.
