A total of 269 offshore wind turbines and 3 offshore booster stations are arranged. Yangjiang project can provide about 4.7 billion kwh of clean electric energy for Dawan District of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao every year, and can meet the annual power consumption of about 2 million households.

Yangjiang Shaba project has not only installed and used the world’s first typhoon resistant floating offshore wind turbine, but also created many “best in China”, such as China’s largest single offshore booster station and China’s lightest offshore booster station with the same capacity. “In the construction process of Yangjiang Shaba offshore wind power project, we adhered to the concept of innovative development, completed a series of major technological breakthroughs, and effectively promoted the improvement and innovation of China’s offshore wind power construction technology, especially the operation of floating offshore wind turbines, marking an important breakthrough in China’s offshore wind power technology.” Li chuangjun, director of the new and renewable energy department of the national energy administration, said.

On the same day, Jiangsu, such as Donghai Shangfeng wind power project and Jiangsu Dafeng offshore wind power project invested and constructed by China Three Gorges Renewables (Group) Co.Ltd(600905) , also achieved the goal of full capacity grid connected power generation, marking the further progress of China’s offshore wind power development to deep and open seas. Among them, Jiangsu Rudong project is the first offshore wind power project in Asia to adopt flexible direct transmission technology. As the farthest offshore wind power project in China, Dafeng project has set a record of AC submarine cable application with the longest distance and the largest diameter in China. China has the natural advantage of developing offshore wind power, with an available sea area of more than 3 million square kilometers.
