At 10:45 on December 25, the Three Gorges offshore wind power projects in Yangjiang, Guangdong, Rudong, Jiangsu and Dafeng, Jiangsu were officially connected to the grid for full capacity power generation, which is another milestone achievement of the Three Gorges group since the first units of Baihetan Hydropower Station, the world’s second-largest hydropower project, were put into operation for power generation, and a new achievement of China’s clean energy in helping green development.
full capacity grid connected power generation of China’s first megawatt offshore wind power project
the Three Gorges Yangjiang Shaba offshore wind power project is the first one million kilowatt offshore wind power project in China, it is also the largest single offshore wind power project developed in a centralized, continuous, large-scale and one-time manner in the world.
On December 25, Yangjiang Shaba offshore wind power project with a total installed capacity of 1.7 million KW was connected to the grid for power generation. The total investment of the project is about 35 billion yuan. A total of 269 offshore wind turbines and 3 offshore booster stations are arranged, which can provide about 4.7 billion kwh of clean power for Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Bay area every year, and can meet the annual power consumption of about 2 million households.
During the construction of the Three Gorges Yangjiang Shaba offshore wind power project, it has responded to complex geological conditions with different foundation forms, innovated and used up to 8 foundation types, successfully built the “offshore wind power foundation Museum”, creating the most offshore wind power foundation types in China. in addition, the project also completed the installation of the jacket of the most difficult inclined pile embedded rock booster station, built the largest single offshore booster station in Asia, laid China’s first high-capacity photoelectric composite submarine cable, and put into operation the world’s first typhoon resistant floating fan.
Li chuangjun, director of the new and renewable energy department of the national energy administration, commented that during the construction of Yangjiang Shaba offshore wind power project, it adhered to the concept of innovative development, completed a series of major technological breakthroughs, and effectively promoted the technological improvement and innovation of China’s offshore wind power construction, especially the operation of floating offshore wind turbines, It marks an important breakthrough in China’s offshore wind power technology.
full capacity grid connected power generation of Asia’s first flexible DC transmission offshore wind power project
on December 25, in the huangshayang sea area of Rudong County, Jiangsu Province, Asia’s first offshore wind power project using flexible DC transmission technology was connected to the grid at full capacity.
Qin Haiyan, vice chairman of the world wind energy association and Secretary General of the wind energy professional committee of China Renewable Energy Society, once said that the flexible DC transmission technology adopted by Jiangsu Rudong project has large cable transmission capacity, low loss, long service life and basically unlimited transmission distance, which can effectively solve the problem of large capacity and long-distance transmission of offshore wind farms, It will play a leading and exemplary role in China’s centralized and large-scale offshore wind power development and construction in the future.
Jiangsu Rudong project will build two offshore booster stations, one offshore converter station, one circuit DC cable and one onshore converter station, build China’s first 220 kV offshore booster station and put into operation China’s first 220 kV submarine cable.
The offshore converter station of the project is organized by the Three Gorges group in conjunction with relevant units of the industrial chain to tackle key scientific research and complete the construction of the first set. is currently the largest offshore converter station with the largest capacity, the highest voltage level and the largest volume in the world. The plane area of is almost a standard football field and the height is about 15 floors of residential building, which is responsible for collecting and outputting electric energy with a total capacity of 1.1 million KW.
It is understood that the average annual on grid power generation of the Three Gorges Rudong project will reach 2.4 billion kwh, which can meet the normal power demand of about 1 million households in a year. Compared with thermal power of the same scale, the project can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 2 million tons per year, which has important economic, social and ecological benefits, adds a sharp tool for optimizing energy structure and ensuring power supply this winter and next spring, and contributes to helping the Three Gorges group build the largest offshore wind power corridor along the coast.
full capacity grid connected power generation of the farthest offshore wind power project in China
On the same day, Jiangsu Dafeng h8-2 offshore wind power project, the farthest offshore wind power project in China off the coast of the Southern Yellow Sea, realized full capacity grid connected power generation, marking that China’s offshore wind power broke through the bottleneck of long-distance AC transmission distance and made another journey to the deep ocean.
Jiangsu Dafeng project site has a maximum distance of more than 80km offshore and a total installed capacity of 300MW. It is equipped with an onshore centralized control center, an offshore booster station and an offshore high resistance station. “Compared with land, marine meteorological prediction and geological survey are more difficult, offshore wind power construction process is complex and power transmission distance is longer, which puts forward high requirements for industrial technology level and construction resource allocation.” According to China Three Gorges Renewables (Group) Co.Ltd(600905) party secretary and Chairman Wang wubin, offshore wind power has high requirements for industrial chain synergy.
The Three Gorges group, together with all participating units, formed a project team to overcome the construction difficulties such as bad offshore weather and complex seabed conditions, actively promote the application of new equipment and technologies, and break through a series of barriers restricting the development of offshore wind power to deep and open seas:
The length of applied submarine cable has reached 86.6 kilometers, creating the record of AC submarine cable application with the longest distance and the largest diameter in China;
In long-distance AC transmission, the capacitance effect of submarine cable will increase the transmission reactive power loss;
The first application of offshore high impedance station in China can make up for reactive power loss, curb terminal overvoltage level under low load state, improve power generation efficiency, and ensure efficient and stable long-distance transmission of offshore wind power;
Innovatively apply the 500kV centralized control center with the largest offshore wind power voltage level in China, and promote the application of GIS, voltage transformer and other domestic equipment.
It is understood that the average annual on grid power generation of Jiangsu Dafeng project will reach 900 million kwh, which can meet the normal power demand of about 370000 households in a year. Compared with thermal power of the same scale, the project can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 760000 tons per year.
